Why you should care about AI

AI is changing everything, whether you like it or not. For me, seeing what its increasing capabilities were over just the last year has honestly scared me for my career. As a marketing student, my plan was to go to school, make connections, and work on building Owen Lencki Marketing throughout 4 years and hopefully have it be successful enough by the time that I graduate to go full time on it. As I started to see how things were changing with AI and how powerful it was getting, especially in the marketing and business field. I had to dip my toes in. Knowing nothing about AI I didn't really know where to start at all, but this was the first time that there was a tool that I could just ask it to teach me anything. So, I did. I didn't know where to begin, so I asked what I should do. After going down the rabbit hole for 4 months of 80 hours a week learning everything that I possibly could about AI, I would say that I have successfully established myself as a proficient user. And yeah, after all this, I realized how much I wish I had jumped in earlier. I spent 6 months creating an onboarding process through notion, and less than 2 weeks into learning AI, I realized that it could've done it for me in 5 minutes, way better. Basically, everything that can be done by hand, can still be done by hand… if you want to spend 20x the time completing it. So this is where I stand, all the work that I've done this summer I could have done by hand. Web design, software development, n8n workflows, marketing ideas, and probably 100 more things all could've been done without the use of AI, but it would've taken me my entire life, tiptoeing around the things that I actually wanted to accomplish with way less quality. I would've had to learn how to code, probably take courses for it for years and do something I don't even enjoy, but instead, I didn't have to learn how to code, I didn't have to go to design school. I didn't have to learn some obscure skill that I don't enjoy just to accomplish what I wanted to accomplish, this is why I feel like it's so important as someone in business to learn how to use these tools in their daily workflow to make their lives easier. Not only would it make doing what you do easier, it would also make lots of things that you never would've been able to do possible. Want to learn how to do something? Just ask, always be curious, and eager to learn a better, faster, smarter way to do things in your daily life and work life. It will set you apart from everyone else in your field right now.
